So Alice was invited to a Medieval themed birthday party this summer. We had fun getting her ready for it. I altered an old Halloween costume of mine to fit her and I especially liked doing her hair for it. I really should have taken a picture of the back. We even wrapped the present in fabric to be true to the medieval theme. Her friend Robin lives just around the corner so she even got to walk to the party - exactly what a medieval girl would have done. Eve got to follow Alice, dressed exactly as she is in the picture below: Sun Hat, PJ, necklace, microphone.
Since it is September, Jackie has been thinking of almost nothing but her birthday party coming up. Shewas inspired by Robin's party and wants to do a Medieval theme or a Medieval Fantasy theme. I like these ideas better than the "grown up" theme she was toying with this summer. ( A party where the kids all dress in the clothes they would where if they were grown ups going to work and then do what adults do at a party, which as far as Jackie is concerned means eating fancy food and " playing that card game, you know the one where there is money in the middle of the table...) The medieval theme will be much better, but as we have talked about it, I realize that what we are really planning is Jackie's 4th princess party. Here are her birthday party themes:
Age 2 - Under the Sea Nemo party - I LOVED THAT ONE -
Age 3 - Royal Party - basically a princess party but we couldn't call it that because no little boy wants to go to a princess party. Logan came as a king.
Age 4 - Fairy Tale party - Basically another princess party. Logan came as a Knight.
Age 5 - Dress - up Party - I was trying to mix it up but all the little girls just wore princess dresses. So this one ended up being a party with 10 princesses and Logan dressed like a skeleton.
Age 6 - Halloween Themed party - I was so proud that Jackie resisted the urge to dress as a princess, instead wearing a red devil costume. A sparkly red devil costume.
So now we are back to princess. Medieval princess. I'll have to do something with the plaque to keep it educational....
And it looks like we

What a gorgeous, and very grown-up, princess she is! Tell Alice way to go on reading the Anne of Green Gables books, I'm trying to talk Emberly into those next! She might be disappointed that there's no magic in them though! :)
