Rasmussens come to play

We had the Raymond Rasmussens come visit after Christmas. It was so fun. My kids were in heaven. Alice and Jackie played with Jaylin non stop and Eve followed Ethan (4)around like his shadow. Sometimes I think he tried to hide from her, but he was always such a great sport when she found him. They were busy busy busy all the time. She loved it. Andrew got to "play" with his brother Cory. Play : Go to a movie, play basketball, and play the computer. I got to play with Cara, Taya, Jordan and Megan. We played a lot of Blockus 3D, Sequence, and of course the old standby Settlers of Catan.

The real highlight was going sledding. It was super cold, but that didn't seem to dissuade anyone. I guess big hills are hard to find in Raymond. When Eve got cold we turned the van on for her to warm up in. Cara and Taya went to warm up too. Cory took that opportunity to put Ethan on Jackie's shovel sled by himself. Cara saw and was banging on the window for him to stop, but conveniently he didn't hear her. I was a bit freaked out, but Ethan went down all by himself and had a great time. One of the reasons kids need their Dad's I guess. It was a great time, with no major injuries. It was too bad that the Durands couldn't join us - they were sick with strep throat. We will have to do it again next year.

Megan was hard core. We practically had to drag her off the hill.

You can tell that it was cold. Alice and Jaylin had so much fun together. I hardly saw them. Jackie is carrying her shovel sled that Santa gave her. That is was Cory sent Ethan down on.

It is always such a treat for me when Andrew is there. In the winter he is so often busy with basketball that I usually I take the kids sledding without him. I confess - I have become a wimp and Eve is even more brave than I am. So nice to just watch and help carry sleds than freak myself out hurtling uncontrollably down the hill clutching my baby.

Megan and Jordan know how to stay warm in the winter. Dress warm and then keep running up the hill. They hardly ever paused.

Taya, Cara and Cory. Poor Cory didn't have his boots and was forced to go sledding in his dress shoes! Thanks so much for coming guys. We had so much fun. Definately something we should do every year.
