Living room facelift.

After waiting all day, the new couches and chair came Friday at 6:30. I still can't really believe we bought them. I smile every time I walk past the living room. The pictures from the phone don't do them justice.

Jackie, 5 years, said as the furniture was being brought in : " Oh, this is such a happy day!"
Elise, 5 years, said when she saw them Saturday morning: "That's a lot better than what was here before."

When the new set was all in place, Alice pointed to our old wing back chair, and said : "Please tell me that we are putting this down stairs. It does not match the new set at all."

We all want to keep the new furniture looking nice so the girls have come up with some new rules:
  1. No eating on or near the couches
  2. No drinking on or near the couches ( except for water)
  3. No doing crafts on or near the couches
  4. No leaving Eve alone in the kitchen with crafts supplies since she may walk into the living room.
  5. No writing with pens on or near the couches
  6. No playing with scissors on or near the couches
  7. No playing with knives or swords on or near the couches
  8. No bleeding on or near the couches
  9. No spitting or throwing up on or near the couches
  10. No potty training Eve on or near the couches

I am proud of their very extensive list, and a little concerned that they came up with playing with knives - is this something they would do around the old couches?

They are serious about these rules. Jackie said to me yesterday, " Mom, did you forget about our no eating rule? I found a cheerio on the floor in the living room".

I had to confess, that I had allowed the baby of one of my friend to eat dry cheerios in the living room, but promised to not make a habit out of it.

So, we would love for you all to come and visit our new couches - if you agree to abide by the rules. Especially no bleeding!
