Another trip

We got back yesterday from another trip to the Farm and a much anticipated 2 night stay in a Hotel in Edmonton. Of course, I did not remember to take my camera, so you will have to use your imagination. The hotel had a little water park with 2 waterslides, a hot tub, baby pool and big pool. The girls were in HEAVEN. They loved the swimming and racing down the slides ( Jackie and I finally beat Alice the last time we went). They loved eating fruitloops in the hotel room for breakfast, eating in the restaurant at night, and watching TV in bed. Jackie said many times "oh, I wish I could be one of those kids who live in hotels! . Not sure who "one of those kids" would be - someone whose parents are on the run from the Law?

Other highlights from the trip - going out to lunch with Greg, and going to the temple with Andrew. I love the Edmonton temple. It is so cozy and just feels like home. I loved the feeling of being back where we were married and remembering how our whole adventure began. It has been a great 8 years. Thanks again Carma for watching the kids.

Another memory I will take back from the Trip - Andrew walking back to the hotel in the hot sun, with the three happy girls in tow after spending 2 HOURS at the McDonald's play place while I was at my meeting. He truly is my hero - Oh, and he changed the struts on the van while he was at the farm - is there anything the guy can't do! I am one lucky girl.

I love this post. It reminds me of a piece I heard on the radio about a woman's memory of a hotel she went to as a kid that had a buffet style salad bar. When she described it to her friends at school the following year they were entranced- they had all gone to boring places like europe. That night her mom got phone call after phone call from parents asking "where did you guys go on vacation? my daugher keeps telling me about it and it sounds wonderful!"
the simplest vacations are often the most memorable and the best!
