Dear Diary

Here is Alice's journal entry from last night, ( She said I could read it - I didn't ask her about posting it - so keep this one under your hat). All words are exactly as written. Though, I warn you, she is reading a "My Dear Dumb Diary" book and it seems to have influenced her writing style.

June 16th, 2011

Dear Journal,
Sorry I have not written to you in a long time I just did not have time to with homework and suff. So anyway, today I had my PAT that stands for provinchal achivement test or whatever and it was not soo hard, but my hand allmost went "kabowicie" and so ya. Robin cam over and together (with Jackie) we made red, watermelon wham gum. I had 3 pizise of pizza for dinner. Oh, I'm sleeping downstairs now!!! It is very exiting. Well I'm tirde and it is time for bed. Good night.


Yes, last night was Alice first official night in her new bedroom. I would have liked a little more written about the awesomeness of the room considering all the work Karen, Andrew and I put into painting it and redoing her head board, but I guess we will console ourselves with the three exclamation marks. That, and how excited she was when she first saw it after school yesterday. The look of contentment on her face as she snuggled into her queen size bed last night was also a payoff. I could tell she felt VERY grown up. Last year, she swore she would never move downstairs, and this morning she asked Andrew if he could build a little kitchen downstairs for her, so she wouldn't have to come upstairs at all.

If the summer gets really hot, we will all come down there to join her.

Also, if you are planning to come to our house for a visit, Alice has agreed to vacate her room when guest's come, so please come and visit. Then you too can wake up in a green room.
