Halloween has finally come and gone. It was a good one, though we aren't converted to the trunk or treat idea. It was fun to see all the ward members out dressed up in costume ( Eve Andrew - yes he is wearing his
snuggy), but it wasn't the same as going house to house. I actually felt bad on Sunday night for not taking my kids out. Not because they were missing out - they had plenty of candy and after the
Halloween family dance at school on
Thursday, Halloween parties at school of Friday, and the trunk or treat on Saturday, we had all had enough of getting into our costumes. But we get so few kids in our our
cul-
de-sac, I felt like I was letting the
neighbours down. One has already said they were sad to not have my kids come to their house. We got all of 5 kids at our place. I should have just taken them out to the houses in the
cul-
de-sac.
Eve went as a "Bad Butterfly). It is hard to get a good picture of her, since she asks to see the picture while I am taking it. Here she is putting the finishing touches on her makeup. The lipstick she is wearing is all her. Also - in true preschooler fashion, she went as a twinkling star to the preschool party and as a bad unicorn for the trunk or treat.
Jackie decided to be a china girl after visiting the Chinese cultural centre in September. Alice did her make up - I only did the eye liner. Her hair is sprayed black - but I was trying to
conserve the hair dye - since this is the first
Halloween event. She also went as a red devil for her school party.
Alice the living dead rock star. Her
costume was a Avril
Levigne meets Hannah Montana Meets Kiss only a little dead. We used pick gel on her hair to make streaks. It didn't work that well - it was too stiff. We should have made a
Mohawk instead.
As usual, all costumes brought to you by Value Village ( with the exception of Andrew's
snuggy). I wonder what the original owner of my cat sweater was thinking when they purchased it. It is so ugly.
