How Andrew spent his Summer

Today is Andrew's first day back at work. It is always great having him home for the summer. Other years, it has taken us a couple a weeks to get used to being together so much, while Andrew figures out what to do with all his free time. This year, there were no such issues - because all of his free time was spent renovating the basement. Now, with summer pretty much over, I can show you some of his work. Here is a picture of the basement pre-renovations... It is an old photo from Jackie's party. For some reason, I didn't take a lot of pictures downstairs. Something to do with the lighting (or lack thereof), the olive green and gold shag, the brown panelling. The whole basement was a tribute to the year Andrew and I were born - 1976.
Here is the room, nearing the end. New lighting, new drywall, new paint, This was taken right after Andrew and I did the Knock down ceiling. It was a messy job. ( No, I am not pregnant, just wearing an old, very unflatering pregnancy shirt )

This is the entertainment room now -ready for Andrew's UFC party. You can't really see the french doors very well, but they will be great once they have handles, and they separate the entertainment room from the toy room.

The TV we got at Christmas, finally has a decent home.

That's the room. We love it! We had 8 adults watching the UFC fight over the weekend and it was great. Could hear every kick and grunt with the surround sound. It was so much fun. We'll be planning more of them I am sure, and some girls movie nights as well .
So come on over and watch something with us! And while you are at it, complement Andrew on all his hard work. He is amazing. I have the best husband ever!
