Playing with the Evie Doll

Alice will tell you that she is getting too old for dolls and that she doesn't like playing with them anymore. She says this to feel cooler than her sisters, and also because she and Jackie try to spend as much time as possible playing with the Evie doll. They dress her up, give her accessories, put on makeup and then parade her around.

She is usually quite into it at first. The girls always come up with some story about a distressed princess and Eve does her best to play along.

But eventually Eve tires of the game, always before her sisters do. Last Sunday I overheard this after Alice and Jackie had given her a series of outfits. I believe she had been an angel, a princess and a unicorn.
Eve: (calmly)I tired. I need clothes.
Alice: Let's take off the princess dress. Do you want to be a butterfly now?
Eve: (definitively) No. I need clothes.
Alice: How about a beautiful fairy? You can have WINGS!
Eve: ( becoming annoyed)No. I just need clothes.
Alice: How about a lady bug?
Eve: (Down right mad) I ONLY A GIRL. GIRLS NEED CLOTHES!!! I .... NEED...MY. CLOTHES!!!!!
Apparently a well stocked dress up clothes is a blessing and a curse.

Awwwww, she's such a cute doll! I love how they play together, and how creative to make her the doll!
