Sugar -Parting is such sweet sorrow

This pictures were taken a week ago. Don't the girls look blissfully excited, happy and fulfilled. The "after trick-or-treating candy sorting" is a tradition in our house. The opportunity to lay out all the good stuff, count the chocolate, barter for your favourites and revel in your bootee. Some of the candies have changed - my girls didn't get one caramel, and what ever happened to those Halloween toffees, and the packages of sunflower seeds? But the thrill and joy of trick-or-treating is the same!

The girls did pretty well this year considering they were only out for just under an hour an a half. 30 minutes with Evie and their chatty dad around the cul-de-sac, then almost an hour with their "come one guys - just one more house" mother.

We pool all the Halloween candy in my house. And my philosophy this year was " eat it all up quickly". I gave the bag to the kids after school and gave them a free for all. (A mistake, considering Eve would open a candy take a bite, then open another candy ) But effective if getting the candy eaten. Now - all the good stuff is gone. Only suckers and potato chips left. (I'm not telling how much of the candy I ate - who keeps track anyway!)
Anyway - now it is time to move on. Yesterday I was weighed and measured for the biggest winner competition at the gym. It goes until December 18th. Andrew lost 17 pounds to win a similar competition at his school in the spring so he is my inspiration. First goal - lose the three pounds I put on at Halloween. How will I do it? I get a point every time I go to the gym - so I will go at least 4 times a week. I will drink more water. I will limit bread and cereals - and above all else - NO MORE CANDY!!!!!!
Wish me luck!

Sounds like a plan your dad and I should join.

I love the poses with all their candy like that! It's such a feast for kids, especially when their mamas let them have a free-for-all for a few days, it was the same here. But oddly enough, they lost interest once all the good candies were gone! :)

And way to go on the Biggest Winner contest! You'll have to drag me to the gym with you once in awhile so I can get there more than once or twice a week!

And I'm with Megan - way to go with the Biggest Winner Conest! That is awesome.
