Ready for the real deal

HALLOWEEN IS TONIGHT. WE ARE A LITTLE EXCITED AROUND HERE.
We have already been to two Halloween events so we are fully in the mood. Here is a little glimpse at our Halloween so far:

Overheard on the way home from the Church party last night:
Andrew to Eve: Eve , did you have a good time?
Eve: Yes
Andrew: Did you have too much candy?
Eve: Yes
Andrew: Are you hyper?
Eve: no. I a kitty cat!

This is the girls ready to go to their school's Halloween Family Dance on Thursday. They had a great time, as always. This is the first year that Alice has been all about her friends when she got there. It was fun to see her dancing. (And this is the first year we have won a cake at the cake walk - so exciting)

Alice did her make-up herself and got almost as much red make-up on the bathroom floor as she did her face. We sprayed her hair black. The smell of that black hair spray brought back some great memories! She looked so different, many of her friends didn't recognize her. Since we had Halloween stuff three days in a row, we decided to just leave her hair- but we did wash her face.
Alice: I love my hair black, I want to dye it like this forever, but it IS hard to get dressed - because it is so stiff.
Side note: She had gotten into a little more trouble lately - maybe it is the sugar, or maybe she is just getting into character. I think I'll make her be an angel next year...
Jackie went for cool instead of beautiful this year. Alice thought everyone should be bad - so this is actually a Bat girl that saves bad guys, and kills heroes - you can tell by the killer mask. Alice wore this costume last year - so the sparkly mask was added to make it all Jackie. It is her favourite part of her costume.
Side note: Jackie found out what Alice found out as Bat girl last year. Dressing up as a caped crusader makes you popular with the boys.

I don't have a good picture of Eve - but she did enjoy her leopard costume which we got for Alice when she was two at Value Village for 2 dollars. She wouldn't wear her ears, but her ferocious growling (and occasional barking) made up for it. Eve gets a little scared these days, so we didn't let her go in the spook alley last night. At the dance on Thursday, while I was carrying her, she suddenly whimpered, " I scared" and pointed at a dad in a costume. He was wearing overly tight blue jeans, a ty-dyed wife beater and had a giant mullet wig. I agreed with her - that was a very scary style.
Anyway - we are all ready for the big event tonight. Hope everyone has fun.
Happy Halloween!
