Halloween 2011!!

" I know there will be Halloween in Heaven". That is what my sister Erin wrote and I concur. I LOVE HALLOWEEN. This year the kids got to go to a Primary Halloween party, a school Halloween family dance, a Halloween party at a friends house, Halloween parties at school and finished off with trick or treating last night. Their costumes got a lot of action.

Eve sitting with our jack-o-lanterns. We have never had so many - but we got them FOR FREE!!!! I may leave buying the pumpkins to the last day more often. I started getting carpel tunnel carving them all though. Each girl got to design a pumpkin and I designed the big one. Eve did the one with the spiky teeth, Alice's has moon eyes, and Jackie's is a self portrait of her teeth.
Jackie went as the Wicked Witch of the West, a.k.a Alphaba from the play Wicked. She was going to go green with facepaint, but decided against it each time she dressed up. The wtiches hat that came with Jackie's costume is the best one ever!
Alice went as herself in Wonderland. She initially wanted to be the old Alice from the Tim Burton movie, but opted for the more traditional look so she would be more recognizable. We got a huge blue dress at Value Village and cut it down to fit her.
Eve - continuing her desire to copy all things Jackie went as a little witch. She and Jackie had a lot of fun playing "witch school".
Jackie got tired first when we were trick-or-treating. Andrew came and walked her home a little earlier than the other girls. She still did pretty well candy wise. She had a feild trip to Heritage Park the next day and didn't want to be tired. Also - she just doesn't love candy as much as the other girls. Alice could go all night.
I thought that Eve would tire out before the big girls. I was wrong. She set the pace. Running up to the house and yelling, "1,2,4 Trick-or Treat" whether the other girls were there yet or not.
Alice got the most candy. People just gave her more I guess because she was older?
This is what my living room floor looks like right now. The great candy sort. Should I clean it up before they get home? I am thinking they should inventory it all to keep me honest. Then I can't steal any!

My favourite part of the night was walking in our back alley. Andrew took them out first in our cul de sac. Then they came back, dumped their bags and went with me out the back. The kids had flash lights and the alley was super dark and spooky. It was great fun.

And I met my 10 pound goal and won the biggest loser - so I get to pick where we go on our date this weekend. Where should it be? Now to keep it off - no small feet in a house full of candy. I didn't get pictures, but I went as miss Piggy this year and Andrew, as always, went as a Aikido guy with a sword.
