Overheard

Jackie: Look Mom, I'm all pinked out! ( she was wearing pink and drinking from a pink cup with a pink straw)

Getting Eve dressed to go to Andrew's basketball game last night
Me: Eve, that is a shirt, not a dress, so you have to wear leggings or pants with that.

Eve: (small frustrated growl.) I want those pants.

She puts the pants on . As she finishes, I get out socks.

Eve: Socks! you've got to be kidding me.

Andrew's basketball game was at the soccer centre. I guess since outdoor soccer has started, there were a lot of empty indoor fields. The girls were have a good time playing in them - but it was late and they were tired, so they were having a bit of trouble getting along.

Me: You guys are playing great. I notice that their is always a kid super happy ( the one with the ball) and a girl we is OK ( the girl who just had the ball) and the other girl is crying (because she thinks she'll never get the ball again. You guys are actually doing a really good job of taking turns. You just need to.

Alice cut in...

Alice: We need to play together. There is no I in team and we can be a team and do passing and work together an all have fun. Come on guys it will be great.

Her speech was more inspirational than mine. I was just going to tell them to be patient and they would get their turn...
