Sir Mix A lot

This year my Kitchen got a little sexier. I got a shiny red kitchen aid mixer. ( Jackie calls it " the giant mixer).It it by far the fanciest thing in my kitchen. I am pretty sure it feels like it is slumming in my outdated kitchen. It is also giving the rest of my hardworking appliances an inferiority complex:

Stove:I cook all her food, but she only cleans me when her mother - in -law is coming over. She shines that thing every chance she gets..
Microwave: You think you've got it bad, I only get cleaned when I smell like fish.
Toaster: Yes, well I never get cleaned I get used everyday too.

Anyway, so far we have made: 2 chocolate cakes, a white cake, chocolate cupcakes, blueberry ricotta pancakes, and dinner rolls. Pretty much everything we have made in it has been a success. The more I use it, the more I love it.

I do realize that the more I use it, the more the real Sir Mix-a-lot will like me. I'll try not to go over board.



These are pictures of the first cake we made with it. It was a recipe from Jackie's kids book of baking, which incidently was her bedtime story several days in a row. The first time she brought it for a bed time story I told her to go get a "real" book. But we actually all have fun reading it. I guess I read cookbooks all the time, so I shouldn't have been so surprised.
